The angles which appear inside and opposite sides of transversal are called alternate interior angles. They are also simply called as alternate angles.
When lines are cut by a transversal, angles are formed internally and the angles which appear on opposites of the transversal are known as alternate interior angles (or) alternate interior angles (or) simply alternate angles.
